Network Security Engineer

The Network & Security Engineer role is a critical function within the organization to support the Regional Network infrastructure and maintain its smooth end to end operation. The position duties encompass both operation obligation and project delivery to our user community across the region. Thus, a high level of technical competence is required to provide the technical leadership to our community in conjunction with services delivered by our outsourced partners.

The primary focus is to ensure timely resolution of incidents brought to the team and apply approved changes where applicable. As the specialist of Network & Security domain within the IT organization, you will also be accountable for driving resolution of Major incidents during a crisis and provide on-time project deliverable to support the business growth.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Handle customers professionally and offer technical advice to support the Network and Firewall service.
  • Plan and execute network or firewall change promptly and advocate the process to “do it right the first time”
  • Accountable and responsible for all aspect of Network and Firewall asset within our organization including capacity planning and technical refresh.
  • The individual must be capable to analyse problems and resolve recurring difficulties independently through root cause analysis.
  • Work with multiple partners to deliver overall network and firewall services to the user community
  • Maintain a comprehensive up-to-date network and firewall topology configuration and documentation
  • Respond and resolve for all network related security incident raise by SOC team.
  • Single point of contact for WAN, LAN & firewall incident, problem, and change request.
  • Contribute to the achievement of customer satisfaction by providing best in class support

Required Competencies:

  • The right person must have work experience in an operations environment supporting multiple customers globally or regionally on a 24*7*365 basis.
  • Willing to be part of standby resource to support off business hour and weekend/public holidays duties.
  • Customer oriented and must have the service skills to interact with our customers in a professional, mature manner as well as dedication to provide best in class support service.
  • Effective communicator at all levels of the organization including the third parties partner.
  • Proven track record in maintaining and enhancing skill(s) level(s) according to future technology trends
  • Proven track record in managing escalations with effective follow-up/follow-through
  • Demonstrate willingness to take incoming incident or service requests proactively without being prompted by team members or Management.
  • Put into practice accountability and responsibility to resolve the trouble ticket or request in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to be personable and tenacious as the situations requires
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills. Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
  • Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

Required Work Experience:

  • At least 2 to 4 years of experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki equipment (router, switches, firewalls, etc.).
  • Industry Technical Certifications is required: NSE for Fortinet Product, CCNA or CCNP for Cisco Product. Additional Security certification like CISSP, CISA and various Network certifications like CCDP or CCIE and CCVP and CCNA Wireless, CWNA or CWNP would be advantageous.
  • Excellent knowledge on different Firewall platforms like Fortinet, Cisco, Checkpoint, Meraki, etc. would be favoured.
  • Knowledge of network protocol skills: (BGP,OSPF, EIGRP, IPSec, RSVP, VTP, VLAN, STP, QoS, TCP/IP, IP Address, Frame Relay, HSRP, VRRP, NAT, ACL , H323, RTP, RTCP, cRTP, sRTP, etc. )
  • Must be familiar with LAN/WAN/Wireless/VoIP technology
  • Familiar with monitoring tools: Zabbix, Meraki, Wireshark, etc.
  • Good Networking skills: Linux, Router, Switch L2, Switch L3, Wireless, VoIP
  • Hands on with SDWAN (SDN/NFV) environment would be valuable.
  • Familiar with WAN optimization and application compression technology would be good.
  • Experience managing outsource partner and vendor to support the environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering (or equivalent)
